blue water beneath me
tall trees overhead
warm sun on my thirsty skin
my body happily sinks below the water’s surface
my spirit drinks in calm splendour
tranquil beauty
nothing else matters
until the sun hides herself behind the trees
her warmth made sweeter in her absence
the air turns cold
the water feels cooler than it was moments before
preparing to leave my mind busies itself with things to be done
my soul plans its next retreat
